Please join us for our second annual Children’s Champion Award Celebration
This year we will gather on Thursday, October 8th from 6 to 8 pm at the Tsakapolous Library Galleria, 828 I St.
Our honorees this year will include the amazing team from the Sacramento Fire Department who lead Sac EMS Corps, a life-changing job training program that prepares young adults to become emergency medical technicians and to enter the fields of firefighting and health services. The program prioritizes young people impacted by foster care, homelessness and/or the criminal justice system.
Our youth honoree this will will be Lozen Miranda Brightman, an outstanding young person who is a student at The Met High School and a leader in the Native Youth Forward youth group. Lozen has played a key role in several efforts, including the recent effort to remove the harmful, stereotypical mascot image at Hiram Johnson High School.
The event includes food, drinks, and youth-led entertainment.
