Please join us for our second annual Children’s Champion Award Celebration
This year we will gather on Thursday, October 8th from 6 to 8 pm at the Tsakapolous Library Galleria, 828 I St.
Our honorees this year will include the amazing team from the Sacramento Fire Department who lead Sac EMS Corps, a life-changing job training program that prepares young adults to become emergency medical technicians and to enter the fields of firefighting and health services.
Our youth honoree this will will be Lozen Miranda Brightman, an outstanding young person who is a student at The Met High School and a leader in the Youth Forward tribal youth group. Lozen has played a key role in several efforts, including the recent effort to change the harmful, stereotypical mascot image at Hiram Johnson High School.
Last October, we honored City Councilmember Mai Vang and the youth leaders Angelica Hinojosa and Alan Santos.
