On March 19th, 2026, a team of youth leaders active at Youth Forward mailed letters signed by 256 Sacramento high school students to the 9 justices of the Supreme Court urging the justices to overturn their ruling in Noem v Vasquez Perdomo. This decision blocked a lower court ruling prohibiting racial profiling by ICE and federal agents. Due to this ruling, ICE and Homeland Security agents are able to stop and detain a person simply due to their belief that the person may be an immigrant, has brown skin, is in an immigrant neighborhood etc… In the letter, the young people share the very negative impact of watching ICE brutality and violence on their mental health, their ability to concentrate in school and their hope for the future. This issue will likely be heard again by the Supreme Court in the coming year.
Here is a list of Youth Forward’s publications used to bring awareness to and advance our work. Publications include papers, op-eds, reports, policy proposals, and letters of recommendations.
