On February 1st, 2024, leaders in the field of early childhood presented recommendations to the Planning and Oversight Commission of the Sacramento Children’s Fund. The Oversight Commission has the task of developing a 5 year strategic plan for the Fund based on 5 goals, one of which is early childhood. The Sacramento City Council, based on the recommendations from the Oversight Commission, will make decisions this summer on how to spend approximately $8 million annual in child and youth services. Starting in the fall of 2023, First 5 Sacramento and Youth Forward began convening leaders in early childhood to develop recommendations for the plan. To review the recommendations, click here.
